Slow Art Gallery tuo taiteen pöytään – yhteistyö ravintola Finnjävelin kanssa käynnistyy / Slow Art Gallery Brings Art to the Table – New Partnership with Restaurant Finnjävel

Slow Art Gallery Brings Art to the Table – New Partnership with Restaurant Finnjävel
Slow Art Gallery’s exhibitions are moving to a new venue at Restaurant Finnjävel in the heart of Helsinki. The gallery’s exhibitions for the remainder of the year will be curated by Laura Köönikkä of Finnish Art Agency.
Slow Art Gallery and the Helsinki-based Restaurant Finnjävel are launching a new collaboration, bringing the gallery’s exhibitions to Finnjävel’s premises in the Kamppi district of Helsinki for the rest of the year. The partnership creates a unique setting where contemporary visual art and gastronomy come together, offering visitors a new way to experience both. The artists of the first exhibition are Laura Kärki, Agnieszka Wajda-Hänninen and Sanna Koskimäki.
Located in the city centre, the venue makes art more accessible and introduces the gallery to new audiences. The collaboration benefits both partners: the exhibitions enrich the dining experience, while the restaurant provides an inviting social environment where artworks become part of everyday encounters.
“When we launched Slow Art Gallery in Ullanlinna, our vision was always to develop the concept further together with a new partner. We are delighted to continue our exhibition programme at Restaurant Finnjävel, located in connection with the Helsinki Art Hall. Its central location, remarkable architecture, inspiring artistic surroundings and outstanding cuisine create the ideal setting for our exhibitions. We hope the installations will spark curiosity among guests, inspire conversation and add a memorable cultural dimension to their dining experience,” says Laura Köönikkä.
Alongside the exhibitions, a series of accompanying events will also be held, including the exhibition opening on Thursday, 13 August, from 7:30–9:30 pm, and an Artist Brunch on 5 September, from 12:00–2:30 pm, where art and gastronomy come together around the same table. These events invite visitors to experience art in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere while meeting artists and fellow art enthusiasts.
