New Narrative and Reader artists: Taneli Rautiainen

Taneli Rautiainen (b. 1983) is a sculptor who uses space, sound and light as his materials. His architectural and sculptural site-specific installations challenge and play with the viewer’s perception. For New Narrative and Reader Rautiainen is creating a new site-specific installation that has been inspired by city lights and movement. A photograph taken of moving lights with long exposure draws a shape that cannot be seen with bare eye. In this piece he wanted to capture that light and movement as a three dimensional sculpture. Rautiainen has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki, and lives and works in Helsinki. Go and see his website from here.

New Narrative and Reader exhibition will be opened by the Finnish ambassador to Great Britain, Pekka Huhtaniemi, on Friday 5th of June, 2015, at 5.30 pm. The exhibition is supported by the Arts Promotion Centre in Finland and Frame Visual Art Finland. The exhibition partners include The Finnish Institute in London and Embassy of Finland in London.
