Mia Damberg is mostly known as a textile artist who has always observed the emotional realm of the individual. She is interested in differences and conflicts between the sexes, power dynamics within families and romantic relationships, shame and taboos. Her art focuses on these themes through photography series, video pieces and installations. At the same time Erika Adamsson’s figurative paintings depict everyday life, fleeting moments and situations through almost abstract settings, making use of bold and expressive brushwork. She works primarily on acrylic glass sheets, using oil paint on both sides making the colours glow.
