New Narrative and Reader artists: Tiina Pyykkinen

Tiina Pyykkinen (b. 1983) is an artist who works mainly with painting. Her ever-changing situational works live by the different conditions of light and shadow, place and time. Pyykkinen’s works are often planned according to the space in which they are to be displayed. Her engagingly multilayered paintings bring the viewers themselves into a uniquely important position, challenging their visual perception and sense of space. For New Narrative and Reader she has chosen two paintings and a sculpture that together will form into an installation. Pyykkinen has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki, and lives and works in Helsinki.
