Parents as Audience – An interview with Bita Razavi

Few weeks ago Finnish Art Agency met a rising star, video and photography artist Bita Razavi and had a nice talk about her ongoing projects and future plans. Bita Razavi’s latest work “Some Critique from Our Parents” will have a premiere on Mother’s Day, 10th of May in Lapinlahti former mental hospital at 12-15. This work can also be seen in a group exhibition New Narrative and Reader, opening in Bury Art Museum and Sculpture Centre in 5th of June. “Some Critique from Our Parents” consists of several interviews with artist’s parents where they discuss how they understand their children’s art and lifestyle. “Parents are usually the closest people and inevitable part of the artist’s audience, but sometimes it’s hard to find ways to communicate the art world for somebody who is not necessarily part of it” Razavi explains.

By subscribing to our Finnish Art Agency’s newsletter you can not only read the rest of the exclusive interview with Bita Razavi but also interesting articles about contemporary art and current phenomena in culture.
