SHIFT seminar programme released!

Finally it’s out, our first version of the official SHIFT seminar programme. International SHIFT seminar brings a wide-ranging group of European art professionals to Helsinki in 29.10.–30.10.2015. The guest speakers will tell about their experiences of good art practices and open up their own practice through several examples. All international speakers have been working in several productions over the years and represent widely the cultural field. The aim of the seminar is to bring out effective art practices, and to open up current, local and global challenges of the independent cultural actor.

SHIFT seminar speakers include, for example, curator Cecilia Andersson from Bildmuseet (Stockholm/Umeå, Sweden), curator and visual arts programme manager at HOME Bren O’Callaghan (Manchester, UK), freelance curator, publisher and director of Galleri Format Kjersti Solbakken (Oslo, Norway), director and owner Maria Stenfors from Maria Stenfors gallery (London, UK) and director Mark Devereux from Mark Devereux Projects (Manchester, UK).

In addition, on Thursday afternoon Suomi-Finlandi will take over SHIFT. We will hear straight talk about money, the necessity of making and breaking the old structures. Speaker include, for example, producer and clothing designer Kaisa Riivari from #inland, director of Lönnström Art Museum Jenny Nybom, CEO at Music Finland Tuomo Tähtinen and film director and producer, founder of Tuffi Films Elli Toivoniemi.
