Laura Konttinen (b. 1987) is an artist who works mainly with photography. The core focus of her work is the materiality of the photograph. Her photographic collages and installations are created by craftsmen methods of cutting and gluing, reshaping and reconstructing the past. Instead of digital after effects Konttinen plays with analogue tricks on the camera through surreal scene setting and carefully considered arrangements. For New Narrative and Reader Konttinen chose six new collage photographs with the miniature world of their own. Konttinen has studied in Tampere and Edinburgh, she lives and works in Helsinki.
