New Narrative and Reader artists: Pauliina Kaasalainen

Pauliina Kaasalainen (b. 1981) is an artist who works with installation and painting. With her human shaped sculptures Kaasalainen deals with the changing boundaries of work, theorisation and display. Her site-specific works are constructed on the terms of the surrounding environment and space and they can be seen as hypothetical representations of the absurd logic of human mind. For New Narrative and Reader Pauliina Kaasalainen is creating an unique installation which is in a dialog with the museum’s permanent exhibition. Kaasalainen has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki, and lives and works in Joensuu.
