Second Coming at 3H+K in July
Finnish Art Agency’s dark and weird summer exhibition Second Coming comprises of gloomy artworks by four well-known Finnish artists. The works previously seen in Helsinki, Turku and Tampere, now get a new chance in Pori, Gallery 3H+K. The artists are Saara Ekström, Anssi Kasitonni, Maria Stereo and Jarno Vesala. The exhibition is curated by Laura Köönikkä and Darja Zaitsev and the show’s visual identity is designed by Ronja Tammenpää.
Saara Ekström is a photographer and a video artist, whose works reflect the passing time, narrativity and the Nature Morte tradition. Subcultures and humour, but also more serious themes come together in Anssi Kasitonni‘s works, whereas Maria Stereo‘s delicious kitsch-inspired art pieces often deal with fan culture. The atmosphere in sculptor Jarno Vesala’s works is often mystical and the themes are related to loneliness, marginalization or the forthcoming change. This is the first time when one can see the artists’ works together.
